Wendy Greuel Loves You, Needs You, Hears You…

Meet the new Wendy Greuel, landslide winnergreuel2.jpg of the race to succeed flamethrowing City Controller Laura Chick thanks in no small part to $250,000 in influence-buying money from the IBEW..

In an email blast, Greuel thanks her supporters and says she learned a lot from voters, presumably meaning their rejection of Measure B and the ineffectual Jack Weiss and the less than overwhelming numbers rung up by the mayor.

“In this election, the people of Los Angeles spoke, and they spoke clearly.  They
want a safer and healthier Los Angeles, they want more job
opportunities and they want a brighter future for our children.

“But
Angelenos also said something else.  They said they want our City to be
more responsive, they want our City to be more efficient, and they want
our City government to act on behalf of the people, and not the special
interests.

“I am here to tell you that I hear that call, I hear those needs, and with your help we can change Los Angeles.

“I promise you
that as Controller I will continue to be your independent voice,
fighting each and every day to improve the quality of life in our
communities. Together, we can write a new chapter in the history of our
great City, and create, not only happy endings for ourselves, but happy
beginnings for our children, as they set out to write their own
chapters in the never-ending story that is Los Angeles.

Words that are music to our ears but actions speak louder than words.

So let’s do a WENDY WATCH and tabulate her votes and actions starting today. All submissions are welcome just email ron@ronkayela.com.

What’s more embarrassing? Wendy winning with 65% of the vote or Nick coming in third?

Wendy Greuel + Happy Ending = Nightmare Fuel

ACTIONS WILL SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS! Her actions as coucil women with a joined to hip attitude to Mayor Tony V leaves alot to be desired. She failed local business with the increased parking meters and went along with Measure B on Mayor Tony V suggestion. I would be surprised if she fills Laura’s shoes.

Wendy loves me? Oh, thank GOD! I was soooo worried!

  5. She finally hears the call? What took so long. Maybe she should have spent her time on the city council “fighting each and every day to improve the quality of life in our communities”. Oh wait, that “promise” will be fulfilled when she becomes mayor.

You have to wonder about how independent Wendy will be in auditing all the slush funds at DWP–$250,000 says she will steer clear.

    Start the recall.

    PARTICIPATION
It appears that the City Council and Mayor Villaraigosa are dysfunctional. In the March 3, 2009 City Councilmembers and Mayor Villaraigosa failed to MOTIVATE voters to participate, get out and vote, in our democracy. The city has 1,596,165 registered voters in a city with a population of 3.8 million. Here are the votes our elected official managed to obtain from the total registered voters.
    Population: 3.8 million
    Citywide Registered Voters: 1,596,165
    Villaraigosa: 127,955 (8%)
    City Attorney
    Jack Weiss: 80,985 (5.1%)
    City Controller
    Wendy Greuel: 141,034 (8.8%)
    CD 1 Registered Voters: 60,784
    Ed Reyes: 6,565 (10.8%)
    CD 3 Registered Voters: 126, 373
    Dennis Zine: 14,782 (11.7%)
    CD 7 Registered Voters: 74,512
    Richard Alarcon: 7,380 (9.9%)
    CD 9 Registered Voters: 70,102
    Jan Perry: 5,801 (8.3%)
    CD 11 Registered Voters: 158,252
    Bill Rosendahl: 16,728 (10.6%)
    CD 13 Registered Voters: 80,605
    Eric Garcetti: 7,210 (8.9%)
    CD 15 Registered Voters: 99,553
    Janice Hahn: 9,250 (9.29%)
On March 11, 2009 the City Council voted on a Resolution, that has NO teeth, Supporting Fair Elections in El Salvador. To monitor the EI Salvador presidential elections taking place on March 15, 2009 to ensure they are FAIR and TRANSPARENT, FREE of INTIMIDATION, and that the DECISION of the VOTERS and RESULTS of the ELECTION WILL BE RESPECTED.
Yet, the City Council wants to discourage NCs from participation by implementing Financial Disclosure when NCs initiate a Council File.
