Janice Hahn for Lt. Gov. -- At City Taxpayer Expense

If you want to know all about Janice Hahn's candidacy for Lieutenant Governor of California, there's an easy way to find out where she stands on the issues, volunteer to help and even donate money -- just go to her official LA City Council website.

If that's not an illegal use of city money and facilities, I don't know what is.

Hahn has the nerve -- or perhaps is so used to abuses at City Hall -- that she has a box near the top right of her Council website inviting readers to "SIGN UP NOW for our newsletter" and when you click on it you're asked for your name and email to mark the issues you care about from Airport, to Neighborhood Councils, 12 in all.

hahn2.jpgClick save when you're done with that exercise and you land on the Hahn 2010 campaign page for lieutenant governor.

It's really quite a good site, showing of the San Pedro Councilwoman with her great political pedigree to great effect. It's got all the social media tools and boxes to help you "spread the word," "volunteer" and "donate."

You got to wonder how she gets away with this. Are there no standards, no laws, no appreciation about the difference between public service and self service?

This isn't just a link, which would be bad enough.

It's a phony invitation to find out about city issues from the Councilwoman. It's nothing but a dirty trick to lure you to her campaign site. It ought to be stopped and the abuse punished.

Ron,

They keep getting away with things like this...(and trust me, Janice Hahns misuse of her website is nothing compared to what others are getting away with)... because nobody does anything.

You never see a crooked politician getting marched down to jail here. That needs to change. If I get elected Mayor in 2013, Antonio Villaraigosa is going to go to jail for theft, fraud, and embezzlement.

But why wait? Join...

Everyone should file a complaint with the City ethics commission. Go to www.lacity.org and find them.

There won't be any attorneys left to handle complaints. They are being laid-off. You could try one of the 100 Deputy Mayors. They must be good for something.

Shallman and the Slimes jumped all over Tamar Galatzan for sending out a mailer talking about her job with LAUSD even though she said nothing about her run for CD2. They just attacking the timing and made her seem guilty by assumption.

This is FAR worse - actually ON her website at our city taxpayer expense. Outrageous, as well as WHY is the Slimes not jumping all over her case by now - WHO are they really trying to please with this?

It will be tough to run for ANY office when you have CHAPTER 9 BANKRUPTCY on your resume!

What happened to the organizer who was going to get 1/2 pay for council members on the ballot? I'm waiting to sign that petition and to get at least 2 pages of signatures. Thats the only thing the councilmembers understand - the money in their personal pockets. If the current crews pay is cut, they would quit and go elsewhere - koretz moved into the neighborhood to run for council - and another is having residency problems, same thing in CD 2, didn't he have to move into neighborhood to run for council member. Force them out with reduced pay checks, maybe Koretz won't get vested.
They can always go to a organization similiar to where Jack Weiss went, they have people who owe them too.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Public Integrity Division

Public Corruption

The citizens of Los Angeles County have the right to expect that their elected and appointed officials will carry out their duties in a lawful, ethical and professional manner. They also have the right to expect that administrators, supervisors and the immediate subordinates of elected and appointed officials, who play an integral role in achieving the mission of the officeholder, will discharge their duties and obligations in the same lawful, ethical and professional manner.

The District Attorney's Public Integrity Division ensures that public and appointed officials - and their subordinates - fulfill their legally mandated duties. To this end, the District Attorney’s Office will use all resources at its disposal to detect, investigate and prosecute criminal misconduct at all levels of public service.

The Public Integrity Division’s ultimate goal is to increase the public’s level of confidence in its elected and appointed officials.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Public Officials

Public officials are elected or appointed to positions of public trust. In the event of any breach of this trust, the Public Integrity Division will investigate and, if appropriate, prosecute criminal misconduct by any elected or appointed public official. The term "public official" is defined in the broadest possible manner and includes state, county and city officials. Subordinates and employees of public officials, whose duties directly impact the public’s business, are also subject to investigation and prosecution by the Public Integrity Division.

• Election & Campaign Violations

Because the integrity of the election process is crucial to a free and democratic society, the District Attorney’s Office must be vigilant in enforcing all laws that regulate the election process. In this regard, the Public Integrity Division is charged with investigating and prosecuting allegations of voter fraud, illegal voter registration practices, illegal campaign practices, illegal campaign contributions and falsification of candidacy papers.

Janice is nothing like her father which is a shame. She's is nothing more then a dumb blonde bimbo who grand stands and has nothing of importance to say. Don't forget she loves gang members and ruined the careers of two great LAPD gang officers in her district. When officers stopped the gang members they found papers from Janice's office in the car. Chris Blachford of Fox 11 did a story of pay Janice was giving to gang members. Now Janice wants to put a parcel tax ballot measure for gang programs. DON'T VOTE FOR JANICE AND GET THE WORD OUT

Janice is a disgrace to her fathers legacy, we have had an organizer from some local organization gathering hundreds of signatures from Latinos documenting the ills of our community.

Supposedly, Hahn has a 80% negative favor rating within Watts and Florence communitiy.

I hear they are already setting up an organizing committee for a local campaign to elect Abel Maldonado for Lt. Governor, right here in Janices' backyard. If she cant carry her own district who would put money in a sinking ship at its home port?
