As a lifelong asthmatic, I’m shocked and appalled and need my inhaler.
What? Is Jan Perry getting an BreathLA award for all the HOT AIR that comes out of her mouth?
The woman is hallucinating to think that she could be elected Mayor of the City of Los Angeles with her sorry-ass record of ignoring the real needs of her constituents while herself living in the lap of luxury.
What possessed BreathLA to give such an award?
Breathe LA is a group that claims to work on air quality issues in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, they are much more interested in cozying up to powerful Los Angeles politicians.
Its a somewhat shadowy group and are not considered by other groups to be a serious player.
Maybe my pal Bruno will agree with me, but I can’t think of one California politician who deserves any awards other than the Dog-Bite of the Year. Grrrrrrrrr!
One pol who does qualify for Legislator of the year is Rep. Thadeus McCotter (R-MI), who’s sponsoring HR 3501, which (if it ever gets out of the House Ways & Means Committee and passes)will amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow taxpayers to deduct up to $3,500 per year for the expenses of legally owned pets.
Known as the HAPPY bill, Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years (HAPPY) Act, because everyone knows what joy we bring to our adoptive families!
Let’s hear it for Congressman McCotter.

This is yet another slam to the good people of LA. Jan Perry dresses like a homeless woman and is in the pocket of developers and is corrupt. She disrespected the city attorney just to kiss ass to Tim Lewieke and AEG. She’s a f–king moron. Her constituents can’t stand her, the cops in her area can’t stand her because she support the Nation of Islam violent thugs. Rosendahl was parading Perry to organizations on the Westside. The problem is when she attended the last one she was snickered at and laughed at. She immediately left. Let her sorry ass go to another area and see the greeting she’ll get. Instead of doing something for people in her own district, this clown of a woman embarrasses them.
What has Jan Perry done to contribute to improving air quality or resident’s health living adjacent to freeways, as identified in LA Weekly’s article “LA’s Black Lung Lofts”. As a Councilmember, she controls land use in the city. Other than AEG’s billboards, she has shown no interest in planning. Her district is crisscrossed by freeways and mostly industrial land being developed with residential. Does she even understand the implications of such uses or care. The woman deserves no award other than a kick in the pants out of City Hall.
I still have nightmares from the time I saw Perry walking around City hall in bedroom slippers and curlers in her hair.
I don’t know why Breathe LA chose Councilmember Perry. I know many Council members that I think (don’t really know) are more green. But she is the Chair of the Energy and Environment Committee. She did stand up to S. David Freeman and tell him that she did not want more LADWP staff at Council – that the community does not trust the LADWP – and that we need a “Rate Payer’s Advocate” or something like that. It was the next day that the 55 MW First Solar project was killed. And now – the Green Path North is dead. So somehow – we are not getting the alternative energy that the Mayor expected by 2010 – we are not getting the alternative energy that S. David Freeman said we could get from solar by 2010. The Environmentalists won in the desert.
There are just so many battles that the City Council can fight right now. It seems like the Budget is the focus – the environment will not be a big focus with the jobs that we are losing.
Wendy Greuel’s “Women and the Environment” meeting message – that I wrote about but was never posted – was even lost here because of other issues.
The venue is fitting. The Peterseon Automotive Museum is the place the Nortorius B.I.G. was killed right after an event. You would think they would have picked a place more condusice to the award like a “green venue’ This shows the ignorance of giving Jan Perry this BS award. She’s campaigning for Mayor which in itself is a joke. Her area in South LA is being over developed, yet there isn’t one decent grocery store, no pharmcies, lots of gangs, lots of illegals, too much traffic. Instead of educating the people in her district on fast food, she outright bans them just like a dictator. Funny thing is Perry has hosted community events where those same “fast food” companies donated the food. Talk about being hypocritical

There is a high percentage from the $550 million dollars SSC funds that are collected without merit. Jan Perry is another council member who wants to turn ratepayers upside down and shake every dollar from our pockets.

OMG!!!! I just read Antonio has endorsed the blonde bimbo Janice Hahn for Lt. Governor. Stupid is as STupid does cause dumb ass Janice should know Antonio has no pull anymore and he gets booed by Latinos and others where ever he goes. Hahn is an example of how the old saying “blood is thicker then water” doesn’t go for her family. I will never understand how a sister like Janice can allow the Mayor to slam her brother and say outright mean, dispectable things about him and his family, and then kiss Antonio’s ass as soon as he’s elected Mayor.
