LAPD Assault on Occupy L.A. Imminent

Police have massed at Dodger Stadium and are being bused downtown and prepared to assault the Occupy L.A. encampment sometime after 10:30 p.m.

Hundreds of protesters are in place on the South Lawn of City Hall, many prepared to be arrested.
Both sides insist they want a peaceful — if symbolic — end to the occupation.

Tonite on KABC John Phillips show, mayoral candidate Kevin James said, “…folks are looking for someone who is willing to make the right decision…” Well, Villaraigosa fails at that meserably. A while back at a news conference, Villaraigosa said, “…and that’s why I was elected, to make the tough decisions.” Well, this Occupy event, is another confirmation, that Villaraigosa’s only concern, is gathering votes for future public office.
Villaraigosa has deliberately refused, at minimum, to have instructed Police Chief Beck, to enforce chapters 4 and 5 of our municipal code, which address code violations at this event, on the first nite the protesters tried to set-up camp.
Mr James, is the only candidate that is not part of City Hall’s dynasty.

I am proud of Occupy LA and salute you all
for your reminding us of the Declaration of
Independence and t5he First Amendmeent to our Constitution.
City Hall is our servant, not the reverse.

Too bad Occupy LA lost its message way back and couldn’t find the support. Los Angeles overall doesn’t support this group because they started to listen to the Unions instead of stay away from them. How big a whimp is Beck? I just read the LA Slimes piece where he says the overtime used was from AEGs $1.2 million from Michael Jackson funeral. He’s FULL OF SHIT!!! There has been hundreds of events LAPD has covered since then and officers NEVER GOT PAID. I hope a reporter calls Beck on that outright LIE. Is he trying to give credit to corrupt AEG for helping with the eviction?

  6. transparency says:

The police evicted the wrong people, the ones that need to be evicted, arrested and prosecuted are the mafia inside City Hall. The system has to collapse, it is completely corrupted.
The police need to educate themselves they are the 99%, if they have not been affected yet, they will be sooner than later. I should say they have been affected by this corrupted system when they forget they are there to uphold the Constitution and not to be puppets for the 1%.

  7. MissAnthrope says:

Beck is “full of shit” is right, but the interpretation of AEG paying for this wrong.
M.J.’s funeral circus cost far more than $1.2 million, and that money was absorbed by the police department long ago.
What does ring true is that to give AEG credit for helping defray the occupier eviction costs is pure political theatre. AEG only cares about AEG and nothing else!
If only we could have been flies on the wall eavesdropping on that little meeting when they came up with that gem and the quid quo pro that goes with it.

Occupy LA needs to give it up. What is
happening now is Angelenos are pissed that the officers are being taken out of their communities and burlugaries are going up because of it. Beck wont’ tell the public that. If the People of Los Angeles aren’t supporting their cause why do they continue to cause chaos in our City? The Gangster Mayor told Beck to say that in his comments to media to help give AEG a lil nod. Assholes!!! AEG HAD NOTHING TO DO WTIH THIS AND STILL OWES THE LAPD MONEY FROM MICHAEL JACKSON FUNERAL. Beck is an even dumber ass to even say it. Maybe its because his Xmas party is at Marriott at LA Live. Rank and file haven’t gotten overtime in two years but Beck is wasting $100,000′s on his Xmas party and rank and file aren’t invited.

awe…someone wasnt invited to the party….so sad

Fox TV is reporting that some protesters are armed with “slingshots and marbles”.
This is why these Occupy LA have lost their message. No one cares anymore and everyone wants them to stop their lame assemblies and rallies. Go to another City like Beverly Hills or Burbank and see how well you get treated there.

My goodness, so many sour grapes because you all
are definitely benefitting from the present day
City Council and Mayor having taken the citizens
for a big ride for the past too many years in order to get your
vote. I am in agreement with Occupy L.A..
Which union do you belong to? I think we must
have an open shop running LA, requiring membership in a union
    is ruining our city.
Wait until I plug my ears before you start screaming foul play at the rest of us, please! I do not have to agree with your “bosses”, we are the ones who pay you. We need to set things straight around here.
    Got it?

  12. Dick says:

One of the lessons of early this morning is that the Mayor and Council, despite their resolutions and handshakes, revealed their true face: selective enforcement of ordinances to benefit their backers — the local face of Wall Street’s real estate speculation. The claim of law enforcement is laughable because LA is filled with violations of the zoning and building codes phoned into LADBD, City Planning, and City Attorney, which are ignored by the thousands. Furthermore, ordinance requirements regarding relief from zoning requirements, such as variances, are systematically ignored by City Hall. Now, a sudden declaration that the lawns of City Hall are parks in order to enforce, with 1400 police in the wee hours of the morning, anti-camping laws is the height of hypocrisy. Can we now expect the LAPD to enforce the many municipal ordinances which are ignored by Building and Safety and the City Attorney? Will the LAPD and City Attorney begin enforcing the conditions the Council and Mayor attach to special zoning ordinances benefiting their cronies?
Plus a lesson to Occupy LA when it regroups: start looking inside City Hall. Remember that all politics is local, and this is where the the schemes and scams you are concerned about play out day in and day out. While there are always secret deals, there is enough dirty laundry hanging on the line for you to fill in most of the blanks.

Some protesters talk about being roughed up by the police. Ka-ching. I hear registers ringing to pay off the lawsuits.
    You suckers always pay.

No wonder our City has the worse news media in the nation. WE have a bunch of clowns all around us from the politicans, the Mayor, City Controller, Police Chief, and media all one big group of morons. The media should be reporting on all the feces and infestation of lice that Bureau of Sanitation is now having to clean in protective gear. I want to see pictures of the huge mess left behind that our tax dollars have to pay for the cleanup now. I want Failure of Mayor and Beck to stop patting each other. This would have been over a long time ago if the Failure of Mayor was educated.

  15. Anonymous says:

OMG I never thought I would ever say this but listening to such a weak, lame Chief Beck kiss butt to Mayor and pat each other on the back makes me wish Bratton would have never left LA. Bratton at least came off like a hard ass sometimes and was political, but not this stupidly as Beck

  16. Occupy LA Did Not Know LA says:

Occupy LA lacked community support because it never took the time to learn about a single issue affecting LA.

Great Job LAPD! Keep it up!

  18. Anonymous says:

Who is paying $5,000 a peice for the Occupy LA criminals who got arrested? Yes, criminals for living like pigs and keeping feces and urine in jars threatening to throw it at police? If these Occupy LA don’t go away there is already a backlash against them. All the posts on blogs I’ve read today want them OUT OF LOS ANGELES. Ron, can you find out who is paying and do a story on where they’re getting the money because of them looked homeless so are they being bought and paid for just like the 1% they were protesting??

  19. Anonymous says:

Occupy LA: take your movement to the ballot box in Los Angeles. You are young enough, and smart enough, to use social media to reach out and engage the unengaged voters who, by failing to vote, give all the power to entrenched, older, voters who tend to vote based upon those crappy election mailers that arrive in the home mailbox in the weeks leading up to a municipal election.
