On Saturday, March 3rd, the L.A. NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL COALITION reviewed the map (the core recommendation) prepared by the L.A. Redistricting Commission. Councilmember Jan Perry and Redistricting Commissioner Helen Kim participated in a very detailed discussion of the map, reports LANCC Secretary Dr. Dan Wiseman.
LANCC voted to oppose the map that City Council President Herb Wesson intends to rush through in less than two weeks. (LANCC opposes Redistricting map), a document that if you want to comment gives you the COUNCIL FILE #11-0187-S3., the map and Redistricting Commission’s Report, and the “Minority” (dissenting) Report by Helen Kim & three other Commissioners
LANCC hopes a lot people will sent their letters or emails of protest as soon as possible.
The is a meeting of Bernard Parks’ Council Elections and Neighborhoods Committee at 6 p.m. Monday night at the Braude Center in Van Nuys meetings of Wesson’s Government Relations Committee Meetings MONDAY, 4 pm, Port of LA Administration Bldg. 425 South Palos Verdes Street, San Pedro; TUESDAY, 4 pm, Braude Center, 6262 Van Nuys Blvd.; WEDNESDAY, 4 pm, L.A. City Hall Council Chamber.
Wiseman said Parks and Perry are talking about filing a law suit opposing the map and a referendum campaign for fairer maps is possible or some Council members may challenge the proposed map.
The Redistricting Commission which was widely regarded as puppets of City Hall incumbents since Wesson’s deputy chief of staff was its executive director, several of its members intending to run for the Council and others having close ties to current members.
The only way to stretch the time out and allow for more public input is to sue.
Jan Perry is only interested in her run for Mayor, and Parks is mad about being upended by Wesson for Clown-President of the Clowncil. The real damage in all of this is when the Koreans back in Korea get word they are not welcome in a City the’ve poured a BILLION PLUS BUCKS into and saved Wilshire Center from financial ruin! The Machine that purchases all elections in L.A. is cutting Koreatown in half to dilute their voting strengh to match their ever increasing financial power. Why? Because the Koreatown people DON’T PAY TO PLAY—they simply WORK WORK WORK and create JOBS JOBS JOBS, you know, the way America became a superpower in the first place! Imagine a City Hall Machine AFRAID to let one or two out of 15 seats on that Council be actually OCCUPIED BY HONEST PEOPLE? If they were as smart as they think they are, they’d let an Asian Seat be redrawn on the map, and cut CD4 up as a 100% Valley-Sherman Oaks Seat to give the S.F. Valley an extra Clown Seat and let CD 13 absorb the rest AND SEND LABONGE INTO EARLY RETIREMENT! But no, they have to draw their little sleezy map over the objections of 1,500 COMMENTATORS and hundreds of thousands of voters! We are living in a very sick and very terminal L.A. City. Frank McCourt owns the Parking Lots surrounding Dodger’s Stadium BUT HE’S SELLING THE REST OF IT FOR 1.1. BILLION!! Yes, a very sick Cityl Then we have the Candidacy of Carmen Douche-Tanich which every day sees another lie, misstep, and twist, but he’s got that Million plus dollar bag of cash to buy the County’s D.A. Seat. Can’t redistrict that one—its County Wide!
I don’t even go to Clipper’s game anymore because I can’t pull myself into giving AEG and their parking lots and properties any more of my money than that which they grab with their handouts at City Hall. But Ron’s correct—go to those local meetings this week and tell them one thing—TELL THEM TO GO STRAIGHT TO HELL AND TELL THEM THEIR RACIST CITY-WIDE AGAINST KOREANS, ASIANS, ARMENIANS, AND SPECIFICALLY BLACKS LIVING IN WESTCHESTER AND NEAR USC AND THEY SELL OUT AND TRADE JEWISH NEIGHBORHOODS LIKE TRADING CARDS AT A SHOW! The fat ballheaded con-artist that chairs the meetings will only give you ONE MINUTE–SO YOU’LL HAVE TO YELL QUICKLY.
